About Us
Hutchings Pianos was established by Reg and Pat Hutchings in 1955.
As Reg was a musician and a piano teacher, the business, originally called Reg Hutchings Piano Studio, soon expanded into selling reconditioned, second hand pianos from Europe. Australia and the U.S. Later we began to sell new pianos from England, China, Japan, Korea and Russia.
Hutchings Pianos was one of the first piano dealers to offer pianos for rent, 'which proved to be a very popular option for many. At times there has been as many as 500 of our pianos rented across Sydney.

For over 50 years Hutchings Pianos has built strong relationships with Sydney's music and entertainment community and is a regular sponsor of many charitable events and the performing arts.
Our Sydney piano shop is centrally located at one of the main traffic routes in the Eastern Suburbs, the Bondi / Woollahra intersection, minutes from Bondi Junction's commercial centre. It has become a landmark known for its distinctive wall mural with a keyboard and portraits of some of the 20th century's finest pianists.

Reg died in 2000 and Pat in 2006. The business is now owned by three of the second generation Hutchings family; Wendy Hutchings (General Manager), Rodney Hutchings and Amanda Hutchings.
Now the third generation, Wendy's daughter, Jody, along with a dedicated sales team ensure that Hutchings Pianos continues to be one of the most enduring and well known piano dealers in Australia.
New Developments - Pringle Place Music for Juniors School and KINDERMUSIK CLASSES
Wendy spent 20 years in early childhood services as a Teacher and Director of child care centres and preschools and later Childrens' Services Manager of many services.
Passionate about education Wendy is dedicated to the increasing recognition of the importance of music to early development. in February 2006 she opened Pringle Place Musik for Juniors delivering the world famous Kindermusik program from the adjacent teaching studio.
